Ungifted

So, I'm not gifted enough for public school. I was in ECHO at St. Sebastian, when we would go to Vincentian every once in a while. I car pooled with Michael McBurney. I was in a play as Sherlock Holmes with Jen Avetta, where I asked her out for a pop at the end of the show (as part of my character). Mike got a big kick out of that. Their cut-off was a 120 IQ, whereas GATE was/is 130. We tested me again, but I'm still not smart enough.

Schedule

I got my seventh grade schedule today:

Social Studies with Mr. Mullen
Reading with Mrs. Havranek, then Art with Mr. Langer
Cadet Band with Ms. K
Honors Math with Mr. O'Donnell
Honors English with Mr. Klebacha
Gym with Ms. Dixon HF, Home Ec with Ms. Dittmer MTW, then Shop with Mr. Evans MTW

I don't know anyone who knows any of these people, so I'll just have to wait and see. At least most of the kids won't know I'm from a St. Sebastian's because all six of the public elementary schools are coming for their first year at the junior high too.

Aunt Lou

I got a President Coin collection from Aunt Lou this year. It's pretty neat.

Blue & Gold Awards Dinner

I was the top popcorn salesman again (thanks to Dad). I also earned my Webelos badge. If more people thought an Eagle Scout was worth going for, I probably would, but I think this is it for me and scouts.

Kelly has a sister

Mary Elizabeth was born today! Sister John Gabriel will be happy to hear about it from me. She says I don't talk enough. Someone even told on me for talking once when we were supposed to be working quietly and she told them that's good because I'm too quiet sometimes. Of course, there was the time we were throwing a bean bag around and it landed on the teacher book and when I went to grab it, I got a little of the page too. I put the page back and kept playing and if she ever found out it was me, she didn't do anything about it.
