Fourth Grade

Fourth grade started this week. I have Sister John Gabriel for most classes, but I have Mrs. Balsomico for some. I got my first NI from her on a 4 question worksheet, where I missed 2. I went to the bathroom, so no one would see me getting teary-eyed. I also got punched by Brian C. in gym class. At least, I have learning the saxophone to look forward to this year. There's also a band summer camp, where you play music and other things like kickball with Mrs. Wilson.

Ponderosa

We went out to Ponderosa with my friend Paul and his family. I told him about how I can make a weed-whacking sound with my mouth. It's like an extended raspberry. It was really funny. My mom heard me do it for the first time too.

I'm going to have Mrs. Gannon for third grade this year and get to make volcanoes out of play dough. That should be neat.

Day Camp at Camp Guyasuta

I got to fire a rifle today lying down on my stomach, but it still hurt my shoulder. I don't think I'm going to be doing much more of that even though I like G.I. Joe still.

Blue & Gold Awards Banquet

So today was a day to remember all the Cub Scout achievements from the past year. I always do well with the Popcorn Sale because Dad takes the order form into work at Westinghouse and people buy a bunch, much more than sell walking around the neighborhood knocking on doors. We also do pretty well in the Pinewood Derby since he's an engineer (or has engineer training). At least, we didn't get disqualified for using illegal materials (putty) like Jeff P. a year behind us did. We used nails in the bottom of the car to keep the aerodynamic shape and the maximum weight.

Children's Museum

The Cub Scouts went to the Children's Museum today. John's sister Christy and Kelly came along too. We played in the giant mouth, where you could sit on the teeth; the TV studio; and the ship.

Baseball

I'm switching from soccer to baseball. I'm in right field a lot and not because I have an arm like Roberto Clemente. At practice, I even tossed the ball to Mario, who had come running over from center, to throw into the infield for me. It's hard standing out there with nothing to do for so long, especially when you have to go to the bathroom, but I'm afraid to ask to go until the inning is over.

The Cub Scouts all went to Bob Evans today. We even got balloons along with our food.

Police Station

The Cub Scouts got to go to the Ross Township Police Station today. They took our fingerprints. They let us see what the inside of the jail cell looked like, so we could take a picture. Brian C. locked it while I was in there and Sgt. Uhrin had to go and get the keys. After that we got to ride in the police car.
